On Saturday 7th February 2026, 7 of us hit the road on our way to hit the slope! It was SNOW FIX TIME!
It’s winter, and we all know that January Blues are definitely a thing and not everyone had a snow holiday planned this season, so we decided the next best thing was to book a trip to the Chill Factore in Manchester, to get some time on the snow!
After a long (and brilliant!) game of tedious music links on the way there, and a bite to eat once we arrived, it was time to gear up and check in. We didn’t book online as the availability was good with spaces every 15 minutes for the lift passes. The price was slightly higher than the “from” price on the website, due to it being a Saturday evening (peak time), but you can check that out by choosing your time and date online before you go, even if you don’t book online.
Unfortunately, you have to be competent on a drag lift, to go on the main slope, which meant that the kids (who have only had one day on a drag lift in France 3 years ago) couldn’t join in the snowboarding fun…this time! BUT they had a blast playing on the ice slide, donuts and sledge runs instead, followed by a hot chocolate on the balcony whilst watching (and sometimes laughing at) us.
Meanwhile, 4 boards and 2 planks did as many runs as possible on our 2 hour lift pass. It’s not a long slope and the night we went, there were no jumps, rails or boxes out to play on, which meant we had to create our own fun and random challenges. It was great to be back on a board and lots of laughs were had doing trains, jumps and snow sprays and we can’t wait for the next one!
