We’ve been on more than one Snowboarding holiday so we thought we’d share a few bits of advice on how to choose a good destination for your first holiday. We will focus mainly on Europe in this article as that’s where we have the most experience, but there are many great destinations outside of Europe too. Here are a few of our favourite places along with a few tips if this is your first time going abroad.

What to Look for in a Snowboarding Destination

1. Beginner-Friendly Terrain
If you’re new to snowboarding, look for resorts that offer wide, gentle slopes (green and blue runs), dedicated beginner areas, and good snow schools.

2. Snow Reliability
Aim for destinations with high altitude or a strong snow record, especially if you’re planning to travel early or late in the season.

3. Snowpark Options
For freestyle riders or those looking to try jumps and rails, pick a resort with a well-maintained snowpark.

4. Affordable Lift Passes & Accommodation
Some major resorts are pricey, so if you’re on a budget, look into smaller or lesser-known resorts that offer great value without the crowds.
